Failed Principles of Management CLEP
#1
I scored a 46 on the test this morning, very disappointing. However, I am curious to find out, can you take the DANTES version right away without waiting the 6 months to take the CLEP again? If so, which DANTES is the most similar to the Principles of Management CLEP?

Thanks!

The Principles of Supervision DSST is most similar, but it isn't transcribed as the same course. DSST doesn't care when you took a CLEP, and CLEP doesn't care when you took a DSST. They are offered by two completely separate organizations.

You can always take a DSST without waiting since they are from a different provider (Prometric rather than CollegeBoard). You'll find that Principles of Supervision is probably the closest and is also probably an easier exam. You'll want to check with your school about acceptance since I don't think most will take Supervision to fill the same course as Management. More on the exam can be found at: http://getcollegecredit.com/assets/pdf/d...vision.pdf
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

Exactly. Definitely check with your school as to whether they'll take DSST Principles of Supervision. You were so close to passing the CLEP Management you should pass the DSST with just a little more study. Supervision is the easier of the 2.

This. If you're taking Principles of Mgmt to fulfill the TESC requirement, Principles of Supervision DSST will not meet the same requirement (it will, however, fill in a biz elective). There are various other options available over waiting six months to retake the CLEP, though. Look around at the self-paced course offerings. Virtually all providers of self-paced online discount courses have corresponding versions of Intro. Mgmt. They will be a bit more money in most cases, but that financial cost versus the opportunity cost of waiting may be worth it.

The DSST is likely not going to overwrite Prin. of Mgmt, however, so it bore repeating again.

Sorry to hear about the fail. I failed my 1st (and hopefully only) not to long ago. I think straighterline offers Principles of Managment if you want to go that route. Good Luck.

Yeah, and I know all colleges are different, but the other ones I've looked at either don't accept Supervision or transcribe it exactly like its title.

I talked with my advisor this morning, DSST Principles of Supervision will not count as my MGMT elective. However, I have 3 other options that will work. Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management and Management Information Systems. Which of these choices would you all recommend I take my next stab at? Or should I ask which is easiest or similar to Principles of Managment CLEP.
