Good to know. Thanks!

The word "Exercise" you see in the FEMA courses doesn't mean what I think you think it means.
They're talking about Exercise in the sense of drills planning or training operations, like Hazardous Materials Releases or Hurricane Evacuations. Not exercise like physical fitness, weight lifting, running, swimming, etc.

The receiving school will want credit from the original source in this case, FEMA. I doubt they will accept the credit, laundering through COSC will be both expensive and unlikely to work. See which CLEP or DSST jacksonville state will take and knock them out that way. Analyzing and interpreting liturature is usually worth six credits and is considered a very easy exam by most....be aware some schoolsau require an essay with this one to receive credit.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

He could get those FEMA credits transcripted through Frederick Community College at about $80/ credit (so $480). If he were to take the FEMA Professional Development Series, he could get a FEMA PD Certificate in Emergency Management, which looks nice on a rÃ
sumÃ
.
It would be much cheaper to do a 6-hour CLEP, but sometimes fast, easy, and convenient trumps cheap. Only you all can decide.
I would do the last four courses they list first, because the first three are more difficult.
Good luck!

I realize this thread is a few months old from the last response, but I am curious which FEMA credits apply towards an AS with CharterOak? I plan on a combination of Straightline, CLEP, DSST, and FEMA.
Thank you

If you look at the link on my post on page 1, to my knowledge, all of these FEMA credits would apply toward an AS with COSC as free electives. So if you complete the general education requirements and the liberal arts requirements, the rest can be FEMA credits listed there.
See also this page for Associates requirements at COSC.
