FEMA/CLEP/GRE question

burbuja0512 Wrote:Good to know that TESC doesn't accept GRE's. I made a hasty decision to enroll at COSC. My brother got his undergrad at COSC (and his masters at Texas A&M and is now working on his doctorate, but that's a whole other topic..) and was encouraging me to enroll there. I am very happy with COSC but have always wondered if I should have gone with TESC due to the fact that I wouldn't have to take a capstone course there.

My husband has just enrolled at TESC and will be getting his BA in psych, so it will be interesting to compare schools. I will make sure to let everyone know what I learn about the differences.

COSC does accept ACE credit, so I imagine that they would accept the NFA's. My best guess is that they would also need to be transcribed through FCC.. But it's good to know about any other credit options, especially ones that are online and at-home credits that can be taken open book. :-)

Since NFA credits are ACE approved and FEMA are not, that may make a difference at COSC about needing to be transcribed first. NFA credits are accepted on an ACE transcript at EC, but apparently FEMA are not. Let us know what you find out.

I'm glad to know about your brother's experience. I would like to pursue a master's degree at Texas A&M, too.

I knew about EC and GREs first, and when I found this forum, I learned about the rest of the Big 3. Each have their own pros and cons in the perspective of different students' needs. Right now, you are in a good place if you want to take a GRE.

Yes, if you enrolled by 9/1/2010, there are a couple of test dates (November and April) left to receive GRE credit at Excelsior. Here is the announcement:

If you did not enroll at Excelsior by 9/1/2010, then check with Charter Oak State College and Empire State College. They may still be accepting GREs for credit.
