Extremely Annoyed

So I took the College Mathematics CLEP with about a week's worth of preparation and missed it by 2 points!!! So now my only alternative is probably going to be College Algebra even though I can't even begin to elucidate how much I suck at math. I looked through the REA book and feel like an ant staring up at Mount Everest. Any suggestions on the College Algebra CLEP? Also are there as many fill in the blank as the College Mathematics or is it all multiple choice?

Don't fret. Go to the Aleks website - you can get college credit for courses taken there, at your own pace. That's what I did. TESC gives credit for the Aleks courses except Beginning Algebra (I think). Do a search of this site on Aleks and you'll learn a ton.
Good luck.

Great suggestion Storygirl! Aleks is a great resource for people that need a math class or two.

Which school are you using? If you are at TESC, yes, you can use ALEKS. It will need to be intermediate though, they don't take beginning algebra.

I used quite a few online resources to study for the College Algebra CLEP and these were my faves. Practical Algebra Lessons , Virtual Math Lab - College Algebra , and College Algebra Check them out. However I did find the College Algebra CLEP a little harder than the College Mathematics, so I would definitely suggest more prep time.
Good Luck!

Definately check out ALEKS Intermediate Alg! It will take the pressure off of taking one big test. It feels like you just get credit for all the studing you have to do anyway in order to pass the CLEP. I passed College Math CLEP, but took Int. Alg through ALEKS. I intend to take Pre-Calc through ALEKS also.

Only a week of prep and you are bad at math? I say that a fail should have been expected.
Yes ALEKs is a great way to learn and it is good for at least 9 math credits at TESC and Exelsior.
