Good evening all,
Couldn't find an answer to this anywhere else (and didn't want to commit myself to scheduling yet at the ProctorU site, as I've yet to clear this with my supervisor), so I'm turning to you all; can TECEPs taken through ProctorU be taken on a weekend/holiday?
As well, what's the point of the "reflective" material requirement? Just to show that you are on a computer?
Thank you all, and sorry if this was answered before.

I haven't taken a TECEP but... I think you have to sign up with ProctorU first, then you can see what dates they have open. Don't remember off the top of my head if they had weekends open. The proctors are watching live, so I would guess they would not do holidays. But they had a lot of time options (mornings/evenings).
And, you have to hold up a reflective surface for them to see if you have any notes attached to your computer.

They operate 24/7. There just has to be available slots. The camera is for those with built in Web cams to show they aren't using dual monitors...or something to that effect.

I've never taken any TECEPs but I have taken midterm and final exams via ProctorU. The last exam I took was at the last minute to qualify for an extension. Scheduled it at 11:30pm on a Saturday night. I was dead tired by that time and could barely keep my eyes open lol, finally had to slink down in my chair and hope for the best. Anyway the procedure is to take the webcam and swing it around the room 360 degrees, point it at the floor etc. to make sure you don't have any hidden notes about. Also a small hand mirror is needed briefly to show them your monitor setup. You show them your photo id and you are ready to take your exam. I was skeptical about taking exams online but now I don't think I could go back to the old way of finding a proctor at a library or local community college.
The only thing I hate is that I am a terrible speller and although the exam will underline misspelled words it doesn't allow spell check to offer the correct spelling, so if you don't know how to spell it correctly you can find yourself guessing a few times before you just give up.
