Hello with the help of this forum I graduated from Excelsior with a BS in Business a few years ago, and I am working on my second masters program now. I have a friend who is interested in getting the BS Business degree, so I recommended that he look at the big 3 using straighterline for credits. I was shocked to see that now only 5 Straighterline classes are acccepted into the BS in General business program. Is there a way to launder SL credits to another institution then send to Excelsior? If not, it looks like he may be switching schools.
Here is the Degree Plan that Straighterline gave me for transferring classes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?...utput=html
Boo Excelsior!

Even though many of my Straighterline courses were accepted to TESC, I backed them up with an ACE transcript. Last I checked, ACE will accept almost all of Straighterline's courses for their transcripts, and the Big Three usually honor ACE transcripts. Your friend should try that.

B.A. History, TESC, 2014 - Arnold Fletcher Award - 4.0 GPA
M.A. Government, Security Studies - Johns Hopkins University, Class of 2018.
Straighterline - 26 courses, including English Comp. I & II, Western Civilization I & II, U.S. History I & II, Intro. to Sociology, Intro to Philosophy, Cultural Anthropology, Environmental Science, Science of Nutrition, Business Law, Financial Accounting, etc.

No, you can't launder Straighterline courses. The Straighterline equivalency chart is often not up to date since they're always adding new courses. You could ask Excelsior, but they usually don't answer any questions unless you're enrolled. TESC does count more Straighterline courses as upper level.

You are right he can run it through as ACE credits. I had forgotten about that, thank you!

Turning in an ACE transcript is not credit laundering. The ACE transcript will still give the source of the credit. The equivalencies that Excelsior have decided on will still apply.

The straighterline equivalency to Excelsior courses shown on SL website do not include all the courses. For eg, SL Business Ethics is not shown on the equivalency list, but EC accepts business ethics directly from SL. It does not need to go through ACE.
thanks
