Transcript Evaluation Inquiry (TESU)
#1
Greetings DegreeForum!

Over a month ago I started the process of pursuing a Bachelor's Degree by 'pulling the trigger' and getting my Canadian transcripts evaluated and sent to the big three schools.

Excelsior and Charter Oak had a pretty fast turnaround time, but TESU seems to have only touched my evaluation exactly 1 month (yesterday) from when they received the evaluated transcript. I had a follow-up question that I believe may be better answered by those who have gone through the evaluation process here, but is the academic evaluation I am currently seeing considered 'complete', or is the evaluation done in chunks or parts over a number of days?

There are some discrepancies that I have noticed, and I understand that other TESU Applicants and students have also experienced this. For example: My English classes do not seem to be acknowledged anywhere in the evaluation, though they were received by Excelsior and COSC. In addition, my computer classes were applied to the Natural World section of the evaluation.

The courses listed along with the "Other Courses" section does not fully reflect all the courses that were present on the evaluation itself, including the aformentioned English classes. I was hoping, would anyone be able to shed some light on this based on personal experiences?

(I am also quite excited to begin the remainder of my courses after selecting a school, but don't want to do anything before ensuring everything is in order)

Thank you Smile

Yeah, TESU sometimes does the eval in fits and starts. I would wait another few days before sending an email asking what was going on there.

As for your computer courses going towards the Natural World section, that's ok. You can always move them later if you want. It completely depends on your degree as to where they will ultimately go. What degree are you wanting to get?

Im looking towards BSBA-GM, but according to the unofficial evaluation system, based on the credits I have the BSBA-CIS seems to put me a fair bit further ahead in terms of credits established at current time (28.5 vs 45.5).

Thank you for your information, dfrecore. I will certainly hold off a bit before asking about whats up Smile

So basically, they say that you fulfilled your AOS with the CIS degree, which is great (otherwise, I can't imagine what the difference would be since the GM and CIS degrees only differ in the AOS - 18cr total difference. Even then, some CIS courses should work in the AOS of the GM degree. Kind of strange.

I would just wait to see what they say, and then post it on here. We can help from there.

You just have to wait for them to "complete" the evaluation. Sadly, I think they do them in batches and it is slow!
I guess while you're waiting, you can try taking more classes that you require or know that you require...
If you haven't already, create a spreadsheet and plot everything in there for reference and tracking purposes.
