I'm not quite ready for the TECEPs that I'll have to take to get a BSBA in General Management, but will need to do them in the next few months. Does anyone have any advice for approaching a testing center about TECEP? Are places that typically handle DSST and CLEP good to try? Familiar with any good TECEP test sites in the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin or Michigan)?

Pro tip for TECEPs: Talk to your local public library, or others nearby.
TESC Wrote:Contact your local college or university and find a full-time member of the testing office, or a full-time professor or professional staff member. Adjunct and part-time professors do not qualify. Another option is your local library. A full-time librarian at your local library is qualified to proctor examinations. Librarians at elementary and high schools do not qualify. Active duty military should utilize the base test control officer (TCO) or education services officer (ESO) or a commissioned officer who is not in your direct line of command.
Note: The College does not send examinations to employers, corporate training officers, supervisors, members of the clergy, family members or friends.

If you already know the CLEP/DSST testing center you should be able to use them, otherwise the schools around here all offer proctoring services for a fee. For some reason the libraries in my area have a written policy against test proctoring. I'm sure you'll find someone pretty easily.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

I've taken two teceps and the process has been quite smooth. Even though I live in China, it was easy. You simply find a suitable proctor, have them fill out the application form, wait a few days for approval, then they'll deliver the tests. It was sent via FedEx and they included the pre-addressed return slips to make it easy for my proctor. Also, the 99$ includes shipping both ways. For Fedex service to China, that's a great deal!

I just scheduled a TECEP last week. First I needed to fill out a form in student services and make the payment online.
After that I was sent a link to my email to fill out the proctor information.
This is a huge improvement over the previous process where you had to fill out to pdfs, one for the TECEP and another
one for the Proctor.
