My knowledge is slight but my wife tested at NYU in Tagalog (National language of the Philippines) and received 15 semester credits out of a possible 16. They were accepted at Eastern Illinois University where she received her B.A.
It was worth going after.

This ECE exam is for 6 semester credits, upper level. Instant Cert doesn't have questions on it. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to study for it? I know that ECE has a practice exam.
Webmaster, this might be one to add. Also Anatomy and Physiology 6 semester credits LL ECE.
Thanks,
Sidney

Zefrench: Thanks for the tip about ACTFL OPI!.
I did a little research and I think I'm going to go for the ACTFL OPI. It is supposed to be easier & I can get 6 UL credits , as opposed to 4 with the NYU. Its also a lot cheaper. Now I just gotta find a proctor.....

From a PM:
WeAintGotNoBadges Wrote:Hi. I've seen your thread on these 2 exams. I'm with Excelsior and--assuming that you get the maximum 12 credits for each--how does Excelsior awards the credits on the upper/lower scale. The ACE site says 10 lower + 2 upper for French, and CLEP appears to be 12 lower credits according to the EC handbook. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance for the info,
W.
I receive 12 Lower Level Credits for French CLEP, 10 Lower Levels Credits for French ACTFL LTI OPI, 2 Upper Levels Credits for French ACTFL LTI OPI.

I prefer the BYU FLATS exam over the NYU exam. It's just so much cheaper. $50 plus whatever your testing center charges.
They offer quite a few languages:
Foreign Language Achievement Testing Service--BYU
I'm taking the Indonesian version tomorrow!
