Excelsior CD Rom Courses
#1
I was wondering the amount of assignments given per term for the excelsior college cd rom courses. I took a lot of classes because I was told that i could do the work at my own pace. Here are a list of the classes I took. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I dont have a job or anything so I will be working on this 8+ hours per day.
Biology
Civil War
Colonial America
Communication and Diversity
Counterterrorism
Domestic terrorism
Earth Science and Society
English comp
Families, delinquency and Crime
International terrorism
Introduction to criminal justice
Intro to Psychology
Private Security

I can help you a little with English Comp as I have taken the EC CD-ROM version of this class.

Off the top of my head, I seem to remember 13 "weekly" journal entries on varying topics. If I remember correctly, many of them were related to that week’s text reading. In addition, there were 5 major papers. All of the topics were assigned, so there was no need to make up your own topics. All assignments were submitted via email to the professor and could be submitted at any point as long as they were sent in the order dictated by the syllabus. The terms are 15 weeks, so you can work at your own pace to a point, you do still have a deadline.

Just out of curiosity...you took 42 credit hours all at once? That's basically 3 semesters for a full-time student. Not mention the cost being roughly $12,000!

EDIT: I should also mention that you could take CLEP/DSST exams for about half of these courses. The cost savings would be huge, plus the Bio and Comp tests are worth more credits than the courses.

I took 42 to get done in time for the Fall academy. Testing was my first option but I decided on the classes because I was told I could complete classes fast. I was told that I could get them done in as fast as a week
