Hi all,
I'm still trying to figure out which end is up.
So far I'm leaning in the direction of Excelsior, but I plan to first get an AA at my local community college. However, I want to use my time at the CC wisely and hopefully have a lot of the Excelsior requirements out of the way by the time I get my AA.
I'm looking at the BS in Global Business.
Here is a list of classes at my CC that I think may apply:
Foreign language (for me that is Chinese)
International Relations
Intro to International Business
Cultural Diversity in Business
International Finance
U.S. foreign Relations History
Intercultural Communication
In looking at the courses listed above and the requirements listed below my name, how feasible is it for me to complete the requirements at my CC and/or through testing? Are there any tests that fit with the requirements?
It seems this is a bit of a niche degree, but it fits really well with my current line of work so I think it may be a good way for me to go.
Finally, I was initially thinking of getting a BA degree because I'm not strong in math and science. Have others with this weakness done well with BS degrees?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Rebecca
While all Excelsior College business degree programs give students a background in the basic business core areas, the Global Business Concentration also will require courses in
International Business
International Relations (International Politics)
two semesters of the same foreign language
two of the following three subjects:
International Economics (or International Trade)
International Finance, and/or International Marketing
International/Marketing
The subjects that you choose to focus will be reinforced with concentration electives such as
export/import management
foreign market analysis
intercultural communication
international accounting
international banking/international monetary theory
international business ethics
international strategy
multinational management
other relations courses, with approval
