Hello,
I'm looking at taking TECEP Federal Income Taxation. The test's
overview PDF lists three recommended texts:
- Federal Tax Course. Chicago, IL: Commerce Clearing House Prentice-Hall
- Federal Tax Course. Upper Saddle River, NJ: Prentice-Hall
- J. K. Lasser's Your Income Tax. New York: John Wiley
Any recommendations on which to use?
Thank you,
Ben

Usually the 1st one is the better text.
I actually purchased the cheaper texts off Amazon for Advertising, Financial Institutions, Sales management and Operations Management. The previous edition is always the cheapest.
Good luck with the test! Post here how it all goes!

EDIT: I could have sworn I saved the book from when I took Federal Taxation a few years ago, but I guess not. That's going to bug me now, I'm typically a packrat for books. I do have the assignments on my old laptop with the questions/problems copied into the file if those would be of any use in studying for practice problems.
On an unrelated, thread-jack note, how was the TECEP for Operations Management? I've looked at it but cannot decide if I'm confident enough on the material to test, or if I'd do better with a course.

I have an extremely basic knowledge of accounting, bought the J.K. Lassers book the day before exam, didn't open it until the exam, and passed. YMMV.

I wish I could give you some feedback. I started my BS - Business plan as of Feb 11, and was planning on taking Operations Management at CSU - Pueblo, but now that the cost has dropped to something reasonable I'm going to take a shot at it.
I'll definitely make sure to let everybody know how it goes, since the price drop I think people are still a little skiddish to take the exam, but I'll be jumping in head first.

I bought the Individual version and it was good enough for me to look up a few areas of the tax code that I was unfamiliar with.
