I know the accounting courses at LSU are upper level credits. The Business team advisors told me so.You can call them anyway to verify.

Hi Jorai,
When I first started thinking of getting my degree, I got all excited and signed up for a course at IU and LSU. After discovering how on the money Instacert and this forum were, and after passing a few CLEP's and DANTES....I discovered it was much more efficient to just test out. My snafu was not taking the CSU Operations Management class, but I was unusually fortunate to pass the TECEP equivelant. I say the time and effort you will put into studying for the DANTES and EXE exams will be much less than the time and effort and money spent on classes from LSU. If you fail then you can always take the class, but in my case I kept passing the tests and in the end wasted the money used for enrolling in LSU and IU.
Good luck whichever way you go!

If you are just looking to complete your degree, using DSST tests is definitely the quickest method. However, if you desire to actually take a class, there are some options.
Independent Study at LSU - any course with a 3000 or 4000 level course number is considered upper-level. i.e. ACCT 3001 is an upper level course.
Adams State College - Distance Learning, Undergraduate Courses, Extended Studies, Adams State College
Most of the courses that have 300 or 400 level course numbers will be considered upper-level. There are a few upper level courses at ASC that might have CLEP equivalents which means that Excelsior might not accept the credit if you have already taken the CLEP with the same name. However, most of the ASC upper-level classes will be accepted at Excelsior. Average course tuition is less than $400 per course ($120 to $130 per semester credit hour).
Mississippi State University -
Course Listings - College Independent Study - Mississippi State University
Again, 3000 and 4000 level course numbers will be considered upper level. Doesn't have as many business courses available, but there are several upper level courses in various areas. Tuition is approximately $150 per semester credit hour.
Good luck,

That's true:
If I take courses I will have to take MORE than one exam (proctored) any way, will have to look for proctor and pay for it, and also study indepently anyway!! So, it is definitely better ($$, time, and effort) to study for the tests and take ONE exam.
So, I will only be taking one course, which I have to, Bus. Strategy!
Thanks! This is the best forum ever! I have found that the majority of the people posting reflect to be good, very smart, hard working and determined persons!
Thanks!
