Ethics in America

I am scheduled to take the Ethics in America exam this Saturday. I found this website last week and it has definitely helped me become a lot more prepared. I would have never studied half the stuff that is available on this site. I have never been a very good test taker and am never confident going into an exam but I feel a lot more prepared and hope that I can pass this thing the first time. If anyone has any tips to share that would be great.

If you have already done any of the history exams, (Western Civ..US History), I think you'll do just fine. Personally, I didn't find it very difficult at all. What materials did you use to study?

I used the Dantes book that has a whole bunch of exams in it(including Ethics) & I have a ethics testbook but other then that I used the questions on this website and made a study guide of my own. I hope that this is enough, I really do not want to take it twice. I have not taken any Dantes exams yet, this will be my first. I have 2 others to take after this, Civil War & Art of the Western World. I was told to take this one first becasue it is the easier of the 3. Thanks for your input. Wish me luck I take the exam tomorrow.

I took the exam yesterday and will wait for my results to come in 2 weeks...

Its a 110 question exam with an essay ....

34 questions are regular multiple choice questions .....

and the rest are yes or no questions.......

so you will have to choose A or B ....not C or D or E


and at the end you have to choose one of the two essays to answer in this exam....

At first , I was surprised and fearful ....But dont worry about it ......


there 4 question parts to answer ....

answering those questions separately will give you a complete essay for the exam....

okay on the essay exam ...

you just need to give a reason why the person in the story has moral justifications on completing an ethical action .....and what are the implications for not fulfilling his obligatory moral duty....

thats it .....

now you can use the kantian arguement or the paternal perspective ...depending on the story given in the exam.....

the yes and no questions are easy ...

you will have fun on it ....

Welcome to the forum! I'm a Schenectady native myself. I lived there for 21 years before moving to Los Angeles. Some of my credits are from SCCC and Hudson Valley. What do I miss most? Jumpin' Jacks (in Scotia). There are no fish frys in Southern California. There's fried fish, but not like Jumpin' Jacks or Bob and Ron's or the Harbor House. I used my local community college, which is the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, CA. They also have an Introduction to Research course which covers the one (1) credit Information Literacy requirement at EC for $20 plus photocopy costs for part of the book. It's rumored to be completely on-line soon (there were two appearances required--but I bet you could get those waived even now--as it already is mostly on-line).
