Has anyone here had to go up the ladder for any course acceptance issues at TESC? I recently sent in a request for course equivalencies (showing expected TESC equivalency course code and that is was part of the business core of my program). I got a message back saying that they would count toward my plan, yet when I checked my degree plan today they are in a completely different area. When I requested they change them into the Business Core I'm told they won't be counted as it is no longer accepted under that section. I've asked to escalate the issue but the advisor keeps refusing and claiming the issue is resolved. Does anyone know another way to escalate this? I took the course based off the initial message, yet now have basically useless credit as I have other courses for where they moved the courses. This was for two courses, but I'm only really upset about the one I have already enrolled in.

You can email the registrar directly @
registrar@tesc.edu and attach the approval. I would email followed by a quick phone call. Otherwise they may just forward the email back into the advising queue. If that does not work you can request a formal appeal (see link below), your request is then forwarded to a Dean/Asst Dean. There is still no specific written policy so students are at the mercy of the college. Past procedures are no longer applicable.
There seems to be much going on behind the scenes...so as AngelaP hinted, you may end up taking another course but it never hurts to try. Especially since you had approval in writing. Good luck!
