Well, I might have to spend more to go somewhere else. I asked them twice in online chat about pursuing RA. Both people said they were, and that it takes years.
But they are not on the SACS candidate list, and have been saying "we're working on getting RA" since around 2011. So, the dishonesty made me change my mind. If they simply told me no, there are no plans, then it would be a different story. It's not the fact that they are not RA, it's the fact that they lied about it "being in the works". Bummer. Seems like a good program, too.

Maybe they have tried multiple times in the last 7 years?
Would you consider a school in the UK? I don't know how employers feel about paying for that. I've just made some posts about UK schools for MPH which you could see.

I would definitely consider a reputable foreign school, just havent ran across any EHS or OHS degrees out of country. I have to start digging through search results for more options. Everything else I find is 600-800 per credit hour...which is more than I'm willing to cough up.

Thanks. I'm wondering if I could fill a TESU BA in Environmental Studies up with the safety/environmental/industrial hygiene type courses. They do require the UL courses, per usual, but they basically say "if it relates to the environment, it will fit".

Pretty excited, University of Central Missouri has a good looking occupational safety program....and it's actually affordable at 340 per ch for online grad credit. But you need experience to enroll, which night still work, I should be able to get some experience before applying.
And its an RA school.

Found out an association I am a member of gives a discount at CSU. Bringing the total per class to $765. Now....that is making it extremely difficult to choose. I think I might reach out to some people on linkedin with degrees from CSU to ask them some questions. I see the head of EHS for one of the top aerospace companies has the same masters in OHS from CSU, so that is a good sign. According to the safety guy here, CSU has a good reputation. And I haven't seen anyone asking for a RA degree for EHS positions (other than someone requiring a strictly science degree). Possibly require a RA bachelors, but having an unrelated RA bachelors, with the NA in EHS might still work. Searching on indeed and monster is not convincing me that a NA degree will change a thing from a RA degree in that field.
I know RA is the gold standard, but dangett, 765 per class is really making me lean towards CSU, NA and all. And ignoring the rep that fed me BS about working on RA status. Paying out of pocket every paycheck or once a month makes it that much easier.
Actually, it looks like universities are just about the only places that specify RA.

I've been thinking about NA versus RA too, although I think I've decided to do a different major anyway.
I think that CSU including textbooks means it's another $20-40 per credit cheaper than other schools.
Also, I think CSU being self-paced may be a big plus. I've done self-paced undergrad and non-SP, and I feel like on average, I could complete at least 3 self-paced classes for 1 non-SP. At grad level, I would expect the difference to be less, but I feel some students really prefer self-paced, or it works better with their busy life. I think someone who did self-paced undergrad could hate non-SP.
However, I've heard government jobs care if you have RA.

And CSU may not be lying. In the link Sparklette posted, I think it's saying that getting regional accreditation could take 6 years. https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...rk-but-not
If it matters to you, it looks like UCM only has one start date per year in the fall (which needs applying by July 1st). I read something about how if you're not officially admitted and you take courses, you don't get grad credit for them. Then you can later get approval, but that seems risky to me.

Thanks. I would need an EHS position before that program either way. I also spoke with a professor about the aviation safety degree and using EHS courses for electives, but im not sure if I will go that route. Leaning towards CSU.
