Okay so I've taken English Comp with Essay two times now and failed both times (just a few points from passing). English is not my forte, as you can probably tell... Anyway, when I got the results back from my last attempt, I noticed that CLEP is replacing both English Comp tests with two new ones--College Composition and College Composition Modular. Does anyone know what exactly is changing??? Like no more essay?
What does "Modular" mean?

If you were doing ok on the Essay part, you can get 3 credits of English through the Uexcel College Writing test fairly easy. Its just 2 essays, and that's it. No silly sentence structure questions or anything like that.
From the
CLEP Site
College Composition includes multiple-choice items and two mandatory essays scored by CLEP. College English faculty from throughout the country score the essays via an online scoring system.
College Composition Modular includes a multiple-choice section that may be supplemented either with an essay section provided by CLEP and scored by the college, or an essay section provided and scored by the college. This exam is intended for colleges that want a valid, reliable multiple-choice assessment and greater local control over the direct writing assessment.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Aha! Thanks for clarifying this for me.
What is the Uexcel College Writing test like? I mean, is it timed? And how/where would I take it?
Thanks!
