Engineering Technology
#1
I'd like to find out about my options for an engineering technology bachelor's degree, preferably mechanical, but open to other options as long as the program is ABET accredited. I dropped out half way through my first semester of college ten years ago and did the pierpont aas bog 2 years ago.

Your Location: Ohio, United States
Your Age: 28
What kind of degree do you want?: Bachelor's in Engineering Technology, Already have Pierpont AAS
Current Regional Accredited Credits: None
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: A bunch of Sophia classes, I can look them up and add them later
Any certifications or military experience?: FAA Airframe and Powerplant
Budget: Would prefer to keep things as inexpensive as I can, but haven't set a budget at this point
Commitments: Mostly just work, married but no kids yet
Dedicated time to study: I work 4 days a week, so a little time in the evening as well as most of my 3 days off
Timeline: next couple years if possible
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: out of pocket

There's an error in your template, you must have RA graded credit for the Pierpont BOG AAs, but you mentioned none in the post. There are so many ways to get to your goal, the easiest/fastest probably is to do the ECPI University Bachelors that is ABET. However, it's personal preference... I would do another quick degree with the UMPI BAS with a minor or two of your choice, then do the non-ABET ECPI Masters in Systems Engineering with a focus on Mechatronics (a mix/match of Computer, Electronic, Mechanical engineering) instead.

Do you have a specific need for an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree (like it being required for a job/promotion, admissions to a particular graduate program you want to attend), or is that just your preference/desire to attend a "good" degree/program and those tend to be ABET-accredited?
