Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

The Education Specialist "degree" has one purpose only: to give teachers a place to earn credits for salary purposes.

As for the American College of Education, it is for-profit. But they seem to know what they're doing, their prices are low, and my interactions with their officials have been very professional and friendly. If I was in need of a professional doctorate in education, for example, I would seriously consider them.

Questions: 1) What programs have you looked at besides the EdS?
2) What are you trying to accomplish with the program or a similar one?
3) Have you taken a look at Bridge TEFL and how they ladder into the ACE.edu EdD Leadership instead?

Here are a few threads I wrote about them:

Yes, I have looked into them. They are a great option, depending on your needs. You don’t give us much to go on.  What box are you checking?  Is it for a license? Does your state accept their degree program for the box you want to check?

It's  just for me, no particular purpose.   However, I'm on a fixed income now, so I'm looking at price and time.  I don't need a name brand school.

I've definitely thought about the Ed.S. in Nursing education. There are many post-graduate certificates in nursing education, but the Ed.S. is more than a certificate. It is an "advanced professional degree" that lies between a master's and a doctoral degree. I know the admission requirement is an RN, but since you have a master's degree and an LVN, and if still involved in "nursing education," perhaps they would make an exception? Make a convincing argument that there is a need for vocational nurse educators. https://ace.edu/degree-programs/educatio...t-nursing/

In any case, the Ed.S. appears to be a worthwhile goal. Keep us posted.
