Easiest 2nd bachelors
#1
Hello, everyone, I am very close to earning my bs in general business administration @TESC. Question. Whats the easiest 2nd bachelors? I thought about psychology, but is there anything I can get in the medical field that wont require taking classes at TESC?

I want to join the military's amedd division but its difficult with a business degree lol

Be aware of TESU policy of getting two degrees from them, might be easier to get a 2nd degree from a different college
Complete a minimum of 24 credits. These credits must be in the area of study and/or core of the degree. These credits must be earned after the date the most recent degree, regardless of academic level, was conferred.

Well, I've already enrolled with TESC, and I do live in NJ, so I receive in-state perks. The 24 credits all have to be new, huh? What if I want my second in Psychology but I took a psychology course before the conferral of my first bachelors? Would I have to retake it?

I still don't see the value in a second bachelors (outside of STEM job changer degrees). You would be better served with a Masters like an MBA from WGU or Patten. In theory it wouldn't even have to cost that much more if you can devote serious time to getting it done quickly.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Yes they all have to be new, earned after your first degree is awarded. You wouldn't necessarily have to retake your psychology course, but since you have to find 24 new credits, it might turn out to be the easiest path.

Not to hijack the thread, but I've been wondering how this will work with having been awarded my AA.LS from a local CC in early August. I had by then well over 130 credits overall, including alternative credit, but none of the alternative credit was accepted/allowed/on the final transcript of the CC.

I have since then taken 4 study.com courses which went in the AOS, and am enrolled in the Capstone = 15 credits. Does it appear that I would still need an additional 8 NEW credits to qualify to graduate with a BA.SS from TESU in March?? If so, does it have to be SocSci courses?

Getting a bachelor's after an associate's is considered your first bachelor's, not your second. The 24 new credit rule doesn't apply.

Agreed. Earn the BA in a non-business field and then earn the MBA at WGU. Doing BSBA and then MBA doesn't make sense at all. Doing BSBA followed by 2nd BA doesn't make sense either. You don't want to end up in the messed up situation I'm in where I needed a second bachelor's. Avoid it if you can.

I'm doing 2 bachelors because of a relatively unique situation. I had 2.5 years completed at a B&M engineering school, with upper-level credits, but I am now squarely in the business/operations field. I determined that I could get a BSAST on my way to a BSBA with very little additional effort (the BSAST capstone). In my situation, I feel 2 bachelors is the right choice.

However, I agree with the others that in most cases, a 2nd bachelors is not needed/"a waste".
