REA are study guides created for many of the CLEP tests. Here's the official website, but you don't have to buy the books from there. REA | AP Test Prep | CLEP Test Prep | Teacher Certification Prep | College Admission Test Prep Your first place to look should be your local library if possible. Otherwise, try amazon.com. I got many REA books for around $10-$20.

They offer the same content in multiple formats. I stopped buying the books with CDs and started buying the books without the CDs. All that the CD contains are electronic versions of the tests in the book. I didn't think taking the practice tests on my computer was worth a few more dollars. Buy several books and the cost savings can pay for another book.

Some REA books are better than others. The social science books are generally excellent, very time efficient preparation for CLEP tests. You might want to check out the reviews on the books on Amazon before making a purchase. Be careful when purchasing on Amazon because they sell the current version of the books as well as older versions that are somewhat out of date. Get the latest version.

Some people only use the REA books for preparation. You should consider your learning style. Some people can learn enough to pass a test by reading a book. Others need supplemental material such as videos.

The REA books are helpful, I've bought and borrowed quite a few, sometimes they lack detail that some other source will fill in. I'm currently doing U.S History II the REA book does mention the detail about certain parts of U.S History but the Instantcert flashcards are more in depth along with some fun videos from the education portal. I read the REA book in between my two jobs and on breaks and I intend to do the tests in the week before my exam which is on the 24th
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing
