I am still waiting on my unofficial eval but I have a good idea what I need. I am taking the College Math CLEP on the 25 then I should need 9 UL test and the information literacy course. I am looking at 2 UL DSST's and then 7 UL ECE.
Here is my question: Generally speaking, is a week enough to cram for ECE? I know everyone and every test is different, I am just wondering what people think generally. I am triying to really kick it in gear and get this thing finished before the end of the year. I have been shooting for every two weeks(in my head) but that puts me into January. Of course I want to do well since they are graded and not just pass fail so I may have to alter my plan for certain test. I was just wondering if anyone thought one a week was doable.
Thanks,
Doug

If you click on the links in my signature for the three ECE tests I took you can see what I thought about those as well as ECE's in general (as compared to CLEP and DSST). A focused week of cramming MAY be enough to pass some--particularly Ethics--but I don't think it'll be enough for others. I would look at a two week minimum personally. In my opinion, they are more like final exams you would encounter in a traditional environment than the CLEP and DSST exams.

Thanks Michael. That's the kind of input I am looking for. If I am way off base, I dont want to try it. I have to get through College Math first and then 2 last DSST's. Then I need to look them all over and maybe start with the ones that might be the easiest(relatively speeking).

Hi Doug,
I
absolutely agree with barcotta! For one of the upper level ECE exams that I took, I studied for three full weeks because I wanted to make
sure I passed it the first time. So I would definitely recommend that you give yourself plenty of time to study for these exams and don't worry about meeting a deadline that may not be reasonable, given all of the exams you have left to take.
YOU CAN DO IT!!

Thanks JoAnne, That's what I will plan to do. I have taken 41 years so far, what is a few more months.

Studying for a week for one exam is doable depending on how familiar you are with the subject matter of the exams you wish to take, I've taken 4 ECE's so far studying a week for each.
My relatively poor performance in Org.Behavior(got a C) is a direct result of wanting to maintain my one-ECE-a-week strategy. Now Organizational Behavior was brand new material to me, I had no prior knowledge of the subject matter but I figured if I studied -- crammed is more like it -- for a week I should be ok, I wish I had taken at least two weeks for this one but oh well... maybe I might re-evaluate my strategy for my last exam ECE English Composition, scheduled for August 20.
At the end of the day it is better to do well than to finish fast!
