QUESTION: Are Straighterline courses accepted as is by EC or does one need to have them transcripted first by another school and then send that transcript to EC?

SL courses are ACE approved AND/OR you can receive letter grade credit by transcripting thru FHSU (Acct I&II, Macro and Micro and College Algebra only) .
SL is not listed thru the main ACE website, which causes some confusion. What SL does is when you have finished, you tell them how you want it transcripted FHSU, ACE etc...and they handle the rest.

I haven't started/finished any at all.
I saw a report on the news last night (Fox13) and they did a report on SL and I have a friend who is about to enroll at EC and was also curious about how SL works. The option to receive a letter grade Vs. a generic "P" for pass sounds similar to how grades can be recorded at EC coming from PFC. Thanks!

Great news. JCTC is now issuing grades on our transcripts.
Excelsior College is now a partner school and will accept all our credits. See this chart for the course equivalencies.

Andrew is great and thanks for your feedback. I'll let him know.

Someone is paying attention. Great job this is the news that many have been waiting for. Does it apply to all courses taken by JCTC ? BTW Andrew does a great job! I think he deserves a raise.

OK I can see now that JCTC takes ALL of the SL courses. VERY BIG news. Excellent. Great job! Andrew should still get that raise.

takes all the SL classes and gives a letter grade, however the classes are treated as transfer classes, they are not transcripted as Ft Hays.

So has anyone found out or had any experience with regards to whether Excelsior will accept JCTC credits for letter grades as they have done in the past for FHSU? I am in a similar boat with âlostandfoundâ and am considering taking the Composition I & II through Straighterline and sending the scores through JCTC in order to get letter graded credit at EC.
I am guessing that EC will take the letter grade as they should from any other community college, but the thing that concerns me is that EC now accepts Straighterline courses outright. In the spring I took Acct I&II and the SL-->FSHU-->EC route worked flawlessly. Iâm curious if they will now notice that the that the JCTC credits are from Straighterline and mark them P/F instead. Odd that EC would only accept P/F when SL gives an actual percentage of attainment.
