I'm wavering between COSC and EC. COSC has only general studies degrees, but they list the concentration you choose on the transcript, as long as it's one of their recognized concentrations. If you do individualized studies, then all your transcript says is "individualized studies."
I see that EC has BA/BS in Liberal Studies, with an option for a major or an area of focus or depth requirements. I see that a major or an area of focus would be listed on my transcript. In fact, two areas of focus could be listed. Am I reading that right?
I see no difference in market value between a degree in general studies with a concentration, and a degree in liberal studies with an area of focus, as long the exact concentration or area of focus is listed on the transcript. This may make EC a better fit for me.
For those who are doing or have done an area of focus, what areas of focus are available? The catalog gives only a few examples. I have a large number of credits in business administration, including 15 upper level--accounting, marketing, finance, management--but not enough for a major, and I don't want to take any more. Would that likely be a good fit for an area of focus in a BS program? Then I'd need a depth requirement in the arts or sciences to go with it.?
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
