Do you mean if your GPA is below 2.0 they wont allow transfering of "D" grades? This is what I have heard, so if we have at least above a 2.0, then we shouldnt have a problem. Im still waiting on my transfereing of grades from exclesior to TESC and one of the exams I have a "D". I will keep updating once received from TESC.

Even with the D my GPA would have been well above 2.0. When I called about this late last year they were pretty clear, Grades below C can not be transferred in. Obviously it appears that they do make exceptions, just not in my case.

I believe D's can not be transferred in for English or if your major area GPA will be below 2.0.

I made a 43/48 on Art of the Western World from Dantes which is about the equilvalent of a D. Excelsior said this will not transfer. This was my las three hours for my AD in Nursing degree. I made a 370/400 on Ethics in America and they said this is not passing. Question # 100 was like a essay question. which I thought made me fail. But when I ask Excelsior said you are not graded on that part only multiple choice. Any one have this experirnce.

New Grade Policy Announced
New Policy Focuses on D Grades
Thomas Edison State College has recently adopted a new policy on D Grades that will apply to all students who apply as undergraduate degree-seeking students on or after July 1, 2009.
The policy states that students may transfer in or apply Thomas Edison State College course grades of D to their non-area of study requirements as long as their overall grade point average is at least a 2.0. All area of study courses must be graded C or better in order to apply to area of study requirements. All required English composition courses must be graded C or better. Students must also meet any minimum required GPA standards established by their School to graduate from Thomas Edison State College.
If you have questions regarding this policy you may contact the Office of the Registrar at
registrar@tesc.edu or via U.S. Mail at:
