My clep story
#1
So I took the intro to psych today, passed with a 60 on only 4 hours a sleep from the night before. This is something I wouldn't recommend. But it couldn't be helped in my case. The night before, someone busted into my house while I was in it. They heard me and left before taking anything. I had to call the locksmith and have new deadbolts put on at the cost of $300. My luck lately has been really bad. My lesson out of all this is no matter what obstacles you go through in life, just keep your head up and realize that to get to the top of the mountain, you have to go through challenges before the final summit has been reached.

Yeah deadbolts don't always work, yesterday I actually went out and got a mossberg 12 gauge with the pistol grip. I won't keep it loaded for safety purposes, but the ammo won't be far away either so if it was to ever happen again, they'd be in for quite the suprise Big Grin

Wow, that's quite a story!!! Glad you passed after all that! That would unnerve me quite a bit.

I had a kind of funny experience yesterday when I took the English comp. CLEP. I was pretty nervous about this exam because I hate writing under pressure. I was counting the days (and even hours!) until it would be OVER!

Driving to the testing center (which is part of a local university), several of the stoplights at some major intersections before the universityr were out. Policemen were directing traffic. I didn't think anything of it.

Then I got to the university and noticed some guys in their slacks and ties out in the parking lot playing football. I thought that looked sorta unprofessional and couldn't figure out what possessed them to play football right in front of the building entrance. Smile

Then I got inside the building and noticed vaguely that the usually-gloomy lobby was darker than usual. It wasn't until I tried to get in the elevator that I saw the sign saying, "The power is out. Use the stairs."

Oh. Crumbs. One doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that if the power is out, the, ah, computers for the CLEP test are probably, ah, not working.

I started praying. "Lord, PLEASE let me take this test today!!!"

After some careful navigating through the gloom (aided by my trusty penlight on my keychain) I made it to the testing office to check in with them. Just as I arrived........THE POWER CAME BACK ON!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! It had apparently been out for quite some time, hence the football game in the parking lot. Smile

I was delighted. I got to take the test after all and was so relieved when it was over! Praise the Lord!!!!

Congrats on the pass, Intel. Pretty scary experience. I love the life lesson that you've gained out it though.

Ever upward!

I have to wait for the result since I had to write an essay. I'm not too worried--the first half was easy and I think my essay was reasonably coherent. Smile
