DSST or ECE for Organizational Behavior

So which one is more recommended? The DSST or ECE? I am in the process of getting ready to register for this exam, and want to take the recommended test. I know that the DSST is more cost effective, that Excelsior will accept DSST tests. BUt would it be more worthwhile for me to take the ECE version?

Hi, I just took the DSST version last Friday and passed with an "A" (67). My advisor at EC recommended and approved this exam. It is much less expensive than the ECE so it was no brainer for me. I used the IC flashcards, Specific exam feedback here and Wiki for the things not covered and used the DSST study guide. I finished the exam in about 45 minutes and was able to review all my questions and still finished with time to spare. I just don't have extra money to spend, so this was a good option. Since EC will assign a letter grade to this exam I didn't see any advantage to the ECE exam. I have taken both ECE and CLEP exams, but this was my first DSST exam and it wasn't bad. ECE Organizational Behavior = 3 upper-level credits
DSST Organizational Behavior = 3 lower-level credits

Base your decision on what fits your program.

Reasons to take the DSST
If you think you are going to do a MBA where they cover the subject (why go for upper-level then do it at grad level too?)
Cost
Faster to study
Easier to pass

Reasons to take the EC
If you need or want the upper-level credits.
If you're going to take more advanced management/Org Theory courses
If you're in management, or you're good at Psych-related subjects and can score highly with moderate amount of study.

At some point they will refresh Org Behavior DSST, then the letter grade would be part of the question.

If you can take them both, I did and passed them both!

The DSST is the easier of the exams!

Does anyone know if Excelsior will give you credit for both if you pass both of them since 1 is upper and 1 is lower?

Best way to find out is to get an advisor to approve it. You can try a search but I think it depends on the degree you are going for. This is just from memory but I seem to recall that for those in the business program is was considered basically the same while the liberal arts folk were able to get credit for both...

Unfortunately, I can't speak to an advisor because I am not planning on enrolling until I get closer to obtaining the degree. I am shooting for a BS in Liberal Studies, so I hope they will give credit for the DSST and ECE Organization Behavior Exams as well as the DSST and ECE Human Resource Management Exams. Can anyone else confirm that they accept both for Liberal Studies degrees?
