Double Associates at TESC using overlapping credits. Possible???

Hello Helpful People,


I'd like to know if anyone has done the following at TESC. Have you used the same credits for 2 degrees?


I want to see if the credits I earned towards the AAS in Eviromental, Safety, and Security Technologies and the others can award me additional Associates, presumably the AA of Arts.

If so, how will I be charged? Would I have to pay 2 graduation fees.


So, can I squeeze out 2 Associates from TESC with my 94 credits? Yes or No....How much extra will it cost?

You can get two, but there are rules (and you would pay the graduation fee twice):

From the 2012-13 TESC Catalog:

Second Associate degree
Students who have received one associate degree at Thomas
Edison State College or another regionally accredited institution
and wish to earn a second associate degree must:
• Complete a minimum of 12 additional credits in the option
for a second associate degree beyond the date the most re-
cent degree was completed.
• Students must complete all requirements for the degree as
listed in the current Thomas Edison State College Catalog.

You basically are not able to do two at once, you can do two areas of study on a bachelors but not on an associates. If you hadn't already done the FEMA credits then the easiest way is to graduate with the AA, then get the AAS once the AA is done (since that would meet the credit requirement). Since you already have all of the credits I would recommend you look toward a Bachelors.
