Straighterline Macro Question
#1
I've taken 2 of the first exams for this course today, its rough! I got a 34 and a 37 on them, but barely! Plus it took me 1.5 hours for each 40 question exam. For the midterm and final, is it basically the same questions that were on the test or should I expect a new set?

I thought this would be a breeze with the online resources plus the premium content I purchased but the practice quizzes have not correlated with the section exams the way I thought they would.

Any other resources out there to prep for the exams?

I found that the exam questions seemed to come straight out of the book and even though I enjoyed the lessons, I found that they weren't always related.

Yes.. the exams were not fun. I took quite a long time on them too. SL is not easy. You should definitely take notes on your tests so that in case the same questions come up, you can review what you've already done. Most questions on the final and mid-term will be similar to what you've already done, but not identical.

Thanks!

I'm desperately waiting on my book to arrive so I can move forward. I read the info in the web version but its not as easy to locate specific help when you need it on a question. I really want to pull an A in this class so I am going to try and slow down my pace so I can really tackle this thing.

Yes.. I found SL challenging, but during the exams basically sat there with the book in my lap. If you do that and you understand the material. It's definitely a well-earned grade though. PM me if you have any questions.

I'm enrolled in Straighterline's macroeconomics course and took my first graded exam today (scored a 35). The exam took nearly one hour to finish, and like one of the previous posters mentioned, the practice exam questions have a lower level of difficulty than the actual graded exam. I've also taken Biology and Business Comm. through SL and was able to skim through those chapters. However, I have a feeling that I am going to need to thoroughly read the chapters in this macro course.

I have had Micro already which has helped.

I'm at the mid-term portion of the class. I stopped doing the practice exams after Chapter 2. They really didn't seem to help much at all on the overall tests. The first test took me well north of an hour. Don't know if this will work for everyone. But I made an adjustment by focusing in on chapter summaries and then briefly going over them in the actual chapter. This has turned my tests into 45 minutes to 1 hour.
