The complete test out option people often talk about is for TESC. I have no idea if it's possible for COSC or ECE.

This set of courses proposed for a concentration in psychology recently passed the first step towards approval, initialling by an academic advisor, at Charter Oak. The second step is approval by faculty. Requirements given by category are from the 2012-13 Charter Oak catalog.

It might be possible to fill that course spot occupied by Cognitive Psychology here with Psychology of Adulthood and Aging.

If I have this correctly, DSST Substance Abuse and ECE Foundations of Gerontology are not currently accepted towards Psychology concentrations per se at Charter Oak, though they certainly would go to elective credit. TECEP Marriage and Family and ECE/DSST Organizational Behavior are the other major tests for credit most directly related to psychology but, similarly, don't assume they would be accepted towards the concentration at Charter Oak.

Ohio University used to offer Behavioral Genetics and possibly something else for psychology elective credit in credit by exam format, but no longer this year. Other sources for individual courses in psychology at relatively low tuition costs include Brigham Young University, Colorado State University-Pueblo, Louisiana State University, Clovis Community College, and New Mexico Junior College.

A high enough score on the GRE in Psychology would earn 15 LL and 3 UL credits, but wouldn't meet any of those specific subject requirements listed. It almost certainly would duplicate, say, any 3 sh course or exam in introductory psychology. Would it duplicate lifespan or any other individual courses? I'm not sure.

wow! that is pretty close to "TESTING OUT"
There was one degree plan (the only one so far next to yours) that I found on here a couple of days ago. According to this plan, it would be possible to switch some courses with CLEPS/DSST/ECE.

No idea if this works or not. I simply switched some courses that SHOULD work according to an other degree plan that I found online( for COSC PSY concentration) and COSC's master list of Exams.
I know you mentioned some of these courses are not going to be accepted in the concentration. Did you, unsuccessfully, try to use some of these courses?

For the room, sadly, yeah, don't make any plans that wouldn't be easy to alter based on the premise that Substance Abuse, Foundations of Gerontology, Organizational Behavior, Marriage and Family, or any similar 'close cognate to psychology not coded as Psychology' credit would be accepted towards a Psychology concentration at Charter Oak.

Of course, besides the capstone, they take incoming credit from any RA source, and evaluated foreign sources; there's no requirement that the 2 courses besides the capstone that happen to be Charter Oak-source in the plan above have to be Charter Oak-source.

DANG! and I thought I finally had a degree plan together! COSC's plan confuses me! if I would not need the GPA, I would go with TESC! just as I had planned before I started taking tests.

fm, I assume you are attending COSC. would you mind sharing your degree plan for the gen ed and the free electives?
I am so confused right now...
How do people get 120 c together? the concentration 36. their gen ed online requires 39. where are the rest of the 120? electives? free electives? would be a bit much if you asked me...
Does COSC have a site like TESC or ECE, with a simple, logically degree chart? Their site provides the most confusing degree chart information that I have ever seen on ANY college webpage!
