Does anyone know more about Clemente?

I came across this just this morning, & had never heard of it. I thought it might a good option to suggest to some of the women where I volunteer, but I don't know enough about it yet.

There also doesn't seem to be much info about how a person becomes a student, or who accepts the credits.

The Clemente Course is a National Endowment for the Humanities, grant-funded program. The Clemente Veterans Initiative is a spin off and is designed to assist veterans who are struggling with the transition back into the civilian sector. It is taught in several colleges and universities across the US and is free. Tuition and fees are covered, books are free, child care  and transportation support funding may also be available. You can elect to use it for credit or not.
