Does anyone have a Matrix of courses that transfer to TESU?
#1
So, I was wondering if anyone has a Matrix of courses that transfer to TESU and the equivalencies...
Reading through the forums again as I think this was asked before, but never found a matrix created.
I have thought about creating one in Excel, TESU in one column and the class that may transfer to TESU.

Since there are so many course providers, I was thinking of just ACE/NCCRS credits..minus ALEKS/Shmoop.
Minus ALEKS as it's basically for Math/Stat credits, Shmoop has Math and English Lit/History but their testing
is somewhat complex, strange format that I don't really like. Anyways... just curious if there was a matrix.

I'll be creating one, TESU with Davar, Saylor, Straighterline and Study.com courses as they are the "cheapest".
I will not be placing Ed4Credit nor Sophia, Prospero, Penn Foster etc as those courses can be over $200/course.
Here goes nothing...

Update: For Saylor, not sure what courses come in as but I have added them anyways to what I think it maybe.
Does anyone have something created for COSC or Excelsior, maybe even WGU or another college/university?

If you're going to compile your own, here's a link list of a few smaller equivalency guides for individual providers:

I have a giant spreadsheet (~1000 lines) with every course listed for the following:

Insurance Ethics/The Institutes
TEEX
NFA
ALEKS
Saylor
edX
Shmoop
ACTFL
CLEP
DSST
UExcel
TECEP
SL
Davar
JumpCourse
Study.com
Ed4Credit
Coopersmith/SecularCourses.com
CPIM Certification
CISSP Certification ("laundered" through COSC)
CSU-Global
Lumerit (formerly CollegePlus)
Penn Foster (some courses)
Propero
Sophia
LowCostGenEd.com

Plus classes that aren't duplicated in the above at the following:
U of Arkansas Self-Paced
CSU Pueblo IS
U of Idaho IS
BYU IS
LSU DL

As people update the forum, I put in the course equivalencies. I update it all the time. I also have notes, especially when things change. I include whether it's ACP, where it can be used in which degrees, expiration dates for many, UL via ACE or TESU, how many credits if not 3, cost, and everything is sorted by type of course (Humanities, SocSci, Math, NatSci, etc.).

I wouldn't post it because it would literally be outdated in a week. You would have to seriously commit to keeping it updated constantly. It's a lot of work.

Sounds amazing. Even outdated, wouldn't 1000 lines of entry save another person the time to assemble? I'm so overwhelmed! Sad

TESU has their own list that they will never make public. That's why you can't ask for what outside credits are equivalent to a specific TESU course. But they will hate seeing this list circulate.

Fantastic!

You should consider putting in on something like Google Docs and sharing it in a read-only format (so it's not vandalized)

I can see why dfrecore would be reluctant to publish her list. Once it's out, old, out of date copies will circulate no matter how hard anyone tried to keep a master list updated. If someone sees a large table they would be tempted to depend on it rather than actually checking each equivalency with TESU before taking the courses, which could result in nasty surprises when they submit their transcript. Besides, a huge list like that likely wouldn't help newbies all that much since it would be hard to navigate and understand. Just knowing an equivalency isn't enough, people want to know what will fulfill particular degree requirements.

Exactly why I'm not publishing it. I'm happy to give info, but not to have the list floating out there.

Hey Y'all... JumpCourse.com - What happened to their ACE Recommendation?

I was revamping/updating my spreadsheet and wanted to check out the ACE Credit Registry for newer info and verify what's on my sheet.
For JumpCourse, their ACE Recommendation seems to have expired for all (10+) of their courses. At $149/course, they were "OK".
But the majority if not all of their courses are actually offered by Straighterline/Study.com already.

I've already crossed out AlignDegree off my list, as some of their courses also expired and furthermore, it's $399/course. A bit rich for my
blood, especially when almost all their offerings are LL (lower level) and can be had from again - Straighterline/Study.com
Furthermore, I think AlignDegree changed their name to LowCostGenEd.com or something from a previous post.

I've also crossed out Lumerit (formerly CollegePlus) as I think they're more of a college course planning service and not a provider of courses.
Looking at my list, I am thinking of crossing out a few if they don't "lower their pricing" to match Straighterline/Study.com or at least get close.
I originally was going to cross out ed4credit as they were $300/course, until they dropped their courses to $195. The only reason I kept them on my list actually is because of the good Science Lab courses for $65 and $98/lab kit - it rivals that of Straighterline.

Lastly, I took 3 courses from Penn Foster (some other courses are not ACE Recommended), Propero, Sophia and may remove these as each
offer courses but also at $300+/course when you can get alternatives from Straighterline/Study.com , I really hope all these providers can drop
their pricing and not "raise" them like Penn Foster did for their individual courses (degree students are at $79/credit, still a bit expensive).

Their courses all expired in September and they either didn't seek renewal or ACE didn't grant renewal.
