Does TESC Grade DSSTs?
#1
I have heard that Excelsior grades some DSSTs, eg. A, B, C. I was wondering if anybody knew if TESC did that or was it Pass/Fail. Because everyone on here complains about their communication I thought I would check here.

NO, but remember that SOME grad schools will ask for your score on particular CLEP or DSST exams. Their minimum score may be different/higher than the "suggested" acceptable score. For example, Marylhurst requires a minimum score of 60 on English Comp w/ essay, even if your school gives you credit for the "suggested" passing score of 50.

I hope this helps. Greg

Hm... does this mean that you can get into a grad school with CLEP/DSST scores instead of grades? I had no plans for anything past my Bachelor degree, but now that I'm almost done, I'm thinking a masters would be nice. Wink Problem is, I don't have a GPA or grades since I went through TESC.

Could you take a nice, easy class at TESC for them to put on your transcript?

I thought of that, but I have heard/read that they look at grades for individual classes... not just your overall GPA.

I'm planning to start a thread asking people for help and advice once I actually get serious about this idea. Wink

Yes, you can get into some grad schools w/o a GPA. In fact, you can get into an MBA program at Heriot-Watt EBS without even a high school diploma, but only through the distance learning program, not on campus. You must pass three of the nine modules before you are actually admitted to the school. The lead developer of the program was/is? a noted Stanford professor. It is quite rigorous- I have heard it said that it is even more difficult to pass than Oxford.

I hope this helps. Greg

Thank you, that does help! I may ask more questions of you a little later on. Smile
