Does TECEP allow calculators?
#1
Has anyone taken TECEP exams? If so, which one(s), and where you allowed to use a calculator? I will at some point be taking "Introduction to Operations Management," "Business Policy," "Security Analysis and Portfolio Management," and "International Finance." It seems to me that "Security Analysis and Portfolio Management" would require a financial calculator. Thanks.

I'll also post whatever reply I receive from TESC on this.

mstcrow,

I took the TECEP Ops Management and Business Policy exams. For the Ops Mgmt exam, they allow you to bring in a "non-programmable" calculator, and you really only need it to do basic math stuff anyway. For Business Policy, a calculator is not even needed, as there is no math involved in that exam.

Here are the direct links to each TECEP exam you mentioned. If a calculator is allowed, it is stated near the beginning of the first page. It appears that neither of these exams allow a calculator, but if you read the exam outline, it doesn't appear that one would be needed anyway.

International Finance:http://www.tesc.edu/catalog/tecep_desc/FIN-334.pdf

I hope this helps!
