Thomas Edison promo code from Ashford University--for Straighterline?
#1
Hello, someone told me you could use a promo code for Ashford University to get a free class with Straighterline (online, selfpaced courses) for students who want to transfer over to Thomas Edison, but that just sounds weird. Does anyone have experience with this? Are Ashford and Thomas Edison somehow partnered up, or is this a bogus claim? I want to take a few classes as quickly and cheaply as I can for Thomas Edison transfer.

Thanks in advance for info if you have any.

There is a coupon code for SL "ASH100", which will give you $100 off the membership fee (basically your first month's membership fee is free, but you still have to pay for each course with a course fee). Ashford put it out there a while ago, to help their own students. But it doesn't say that you have to be an Ashford student to use the coupon.

When you take a SL course, you can transfer it anywhere you want. It goes on your ACE transcript, plus SL has partnership agreements with many schools who will take it directly from SL. Ashford doesn't have any control over what happens to that course after you take it. They're just hoping you'll take it to them.

Thanks! Have you taken courses at StraighterLine?

I can confirm that both my son and I have used the ASH100 code for the $100 off and it worked perfectly. Neither of us are intending to attend Ashford. TESU is on the radar for us both at this point. I'd say jump on that code while it's offered if you are considering SL classes.

ASH100 did not work today, but ASH50 did. EZSAVE for $20 off a course is still active. FTEFCF is good for one free course (mine had an ebook) Smile

Is it possible to use these coupons once you are enrolled (EZSAVE, for example) or are these only for new enrollments? I have not tried to use a coupon other than the ASH100 I used when I signed up initially.

I used a BOGO course offer after I was already a customer. I have no idea what that code was now, but it was early 2015.

I can confirm the EZSAVE worked for $20 off just now. The other code for the free course did not work for me.
