I'm currently working towards a Fire Science degree at Columbia Southern University. In the mean time, it would be beneficial if I could get the BOG AAS from Pierpont. I'm just unsure if the Credits I currently have would suffice. I have the following credits:
Local Community College:
French 1
Introduction to Computer Information Systems
Sophia:
Art History 1
Conflict Resolution
Environmental Science
Human Biology
Foundations of English Composition
Visual Communication
Macroeconomics
College Readiness
Introduction to Ethics
Microeconomics
Principles of Finance
Introduction to Chemistry
Project Management
Financial Accounting
Introduction to Nutrition
ALEKS: (On Creadly with Ace Recommendation)
College Algebra
Intermediate Algebra
Precalculus
Given the above, would I be eligible for any area of emphasis? Any Sophia courses I should consider to put me in a position to have an AOE?

For $130+cost of transcripts and additional Sophia.org classes, the Pierpont BOG AAS just can't be beat... Sure, why not go for it? Just take any additional classes you're missing from the WIKI here:
https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC - Review the UMPI links:

BTW, did you look for other Fire Science classes for your Associates? You may want to see if you can do the minimum at APU towards their Bachelors and transfer in as much Sophia.org you can

I looked into APU and found CSU to be cheaper and more accepting of the credits I've already completed. Also, I found a partner that works with CSU offering some of the fire science classes I need. They are on average $150 per 3 credit class vs the $800 directly through CSU.
Does anyone have confirmation that Pierpont would accept the ALEKS credits I have already completed? I feel as though those are the biggest unknown for me at the moment.

That's awesome, would you please share with the board where you get those $150/3 credit classes as it would help others moving into that realm. I don't think we have much in terms of Fire Science, or similar subjects for an affordable or inexpensive rate. If ALEKS is on your Credly/ACE, it should be accepted...

Re: Fire Science Courses
There's a few places which all seem to be located in Florida for some reason that offer courses online that transfer into CSU for fire science credits. You'll have to check on the CSU page to confirm which ones transfer but I located more than half of mine at these places.

Wow, that's a pretty good find, all 3 of them are $150/class and they all transfer to CSU and their sister institution, Waldorf.
