I just joined this forum.I'm in the process of searching for an "online degree" in IT .I currently live in California but since I work fulltime and have kids,I just have to do this "online"
I'm keep reading "U.S News best online schools" article but still can't decide the best one for my situation:
-I have completed two year computer related diploma program in Canada( I do not know what would be the equivalent here)
-I have several years of experience in IT(how do u prove this so u can get the "credit" for work experience)
-I have several IT cert.s
-Money and time would be the most important factors for me

Welcome to the forum!
The combination of several IT certs and a Canadian diploma (like an associate degree in the US) suggests that Charter Oak State College would probably be your best choice if you want to use diploma credits toward a BS.
Charter Oak requires 30 hours of credit from US sources, but those hours may come from "approved testing sources" and do not have to come from regular ($$$) classes.
World Educational Services does transcript evaluations for Charter Oak and has gotten better reviews than ECE here in the past.
Depending on what certs you have, one of WGU's IT degrees might be a good choice too (they have general IT, Security, software dev, and network admin concentrations). It's a self-paced program, you do as many courses as you can finish for just under $3,000 per 6 month period. They'll give you credit for certs you already have as well as transfer in your college credit.
Northwestern California University School of Law JD Law, 2027 (in progress, currently 2L)
Georgia Tech MS Cybersecurity (Policy), 2021
Thomas Edison State University BA Computer Science, 2023 BA Psychology, 2016 AS Business Administration, 2023 Certificate in Operations Management, 2023 Certificate in Computer Information Systems, 2023
I'm sure there are other programs, but I think these are the most popular ones
a few of these can be completed completely online
some cannot -- I'm not sure which can and which cannot
the WGU and Wisconsin program are competency based -- so completely online and self paced and certifications will grant credit
I think there is another competency based program, but I can't think of the name
and since you already have a Canadian degree, why not continue with a Canadia university that is regionally accredited in the US Undergraduate Online Programs : Athabasca University
Information Systems Concentration - Bachelor of Arts (3 year)
Information Systems Major - Bachelor of Arts (4 year)
Computing and Information Systems Major - Bachelor of Science (4 year)
As has been suggested, WGU is good for IT. They accept Certs, as well as give you certs as part of the degree program. One thing to make sure of if you decide to apply - do NOT enroll until you decide how you're going to take all of your courses. They will not let you bring in outside courses AFTER you have enrolled!!! They accept a LOT of ACE-recommended credit, including Straighterline (they are a partner school there) and other things. You need to get an eval, and then determine which courses you can take outside of and before you start with them. The key to the whole WGU thing is to make sure that when you start their program, you're only taking courses that you can't get elsewhere for cheap, AND that you can finish the degree within the 6-month term. You don't want to pay another $3,000 for a second term only to have to take 1 or 2 courses. You want to plan this out well, and we can help you with that.
COSC, TESU and EC are the Big 3 - they would be the "testing out" type of degree. They are similar in price, so it's best to find the degree that fits your credits the best.
Any of these is a good deal, and you can get a degree quickly. You just need to spend a lot of time here researching what you want to do before you start.

Thnx in advance.
Where in Canada are you? I agree with the posters here with Big3+WGU and also would recommend Hodges as well.
They accept selective areas in Canada, so your diploma or associates can be transferred over including your IT certs.
What are those "several IT certs?" What is your ultimate goal? There are a few programs that may interest you.
