thaoriginal Wrote:But you're neglecting the fact that DSST's are MUCH easier than Uexcel exams. Many people could reasonably expect to be able to rip off 15 credits worth of A's in just one month. The same is not true of the respective Uexcel exams. Not coming from a well known B&M, we need every GPA point we can get.
You're neglecting the fact that you have no control over whether or not you get a 2-digit DSST. It's rolling the dice. What are people going to do when all of the exams are refreshed?

I don't see how that puts Excelsior at a disadvantage, what you describe is a worst case scenario where our credits would be teated the same as if we were at TESC. Just like we can't talk about outdated data, we also can't compare the future merits of the schools. Take the exams ASAP while there's still time. You don't lose your grade when it updates if you take the exam while it's still a 2 digit.

I don't quite understand what you're saying, and I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. A few members have been surprised the last few months with getting refreshed exams. The refreshed exams are all 3-digits. It isn't a worst case scenario. Prometric has been in the process of changing the exam scoring for years. Their plan is to eventually get all of the exams changed. I don't know about anyone else, but when I walk in to take a DSST, I don't know if I'm going to get a 2-digit score or a 3-digit score.

I found the information. Out of the 39 exams, only 8 are still on the old scoring system as of the beginning of 2014.

I looked at the factsheets for all the exams to see if any of them have been updated since that document was published in March. All of them now have an ACE-recommended score of 400.
