Does anyone know why the InstaCert link to financial tables has different values in the PV of annuities than the table I was provided with in the McGraw-Hill textbook on Principles of Finance? I am not sure which one I should count on having when it comes test time...
Thanks,
Justin

Hi Justin,
This question has come up before and my opinion is to use the tables in the textbook. However, when I took the test (just last week) I never even referred to any tables because I used my TI BA Prof calc for all the TVM questions. There is also an online calc provided if you are taking a computer version of the test (as opposed to paper).
Just my two cents though.

Thanks Kelly. I bought the TI BA II + calc but called the testing center and they said I would not be allowed to bring a calculator in since it is a computer based test and that there would be an onscreen calculator. That is great and all, but I am not sure what functions it will have - hence I am trying to learn the tables. Do you know more about the computer based calculator?

Unfortunately, I didn't even look at it, Justin. I was just banking on using my calc. You might want to pursue being able to use your own. Someone here on the board did some research and determined that it "could" be ok (might depend on testing center) since it is a non-programmable calc. I can see though the center not allowing it since an online version is provided.
There must have been one of us here that used the online version though. Maybe Janusthephoenix? Hopefully someone will post an answer. Otherwise, do you have access to the specific exam part of the forum? I am sure someone would have posted there about the online calc. Let me know if you don't and I'll search around.
Sorry I couldn't help,
Kelly
