Did you work and go to school full time for graduate studies? Is this doable?

There are post-baccalaureate certificate programs. Post-baccalaureate certificate programs may or may not be at the graduate level. For example, I've seen many post-baccalaureate paralegal programs that consisted of courses that were at the undergraduate level. There are also post-baccalaureate certificate programs that consist of the prerequisites one would need for a healthcare program.

Here is what I found on their website.
Quote:Students admitted into the post-baccalaureate classification have not been admitted to the Graduate College; they have only been given permission to enroll for graduate-level courses to earn graduate credit. A post-baccalaureate student is not required to furnish the application fee or transcripts and there is no minimum grade point average for admission. Enrollment as a post-baccalaureate student does not guarantee future admission into a specific degree program. Post-baccalaureate students may take either undergraduate or graduate courses. The only limitation is that no more than 9 hours of graduate credit may be accumulated under this classification or applied to a degree program.

9 credits per semester is normal for graduate programs, but many are able to handle 12.

Wonderful. Thanks!
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

I've been concerned about this, too, so I'm glad you asked. Here is an earlier conversation:

I also asked someone who has already completed the degree I want. (I highly recommend this, if you can find somebody with specific experience to ask your questions.) She took 3 courses per semester, but I don't know if she worked, too. She said the amount of time needed for each class varied, and if there was a project, it increased a lot. For some classes, she needed 1 hour for homework and 2 hours to study for exams; for other classes, she needed several hours for homework and 8 hours to study for exams. I think this was mostly math problems and working with a computer program versus research and writing, but I forgot to ask!

Best wishes on your next adventure!

you can do a post-bac that can consist of undergraduate or graduate level work, but you need to hold a bachelor's degree to be eligible. Post bacs are sometimes "for" something, like a premed sequence "for" med or dental school admission. Everyone in the program already has a bachelor's degree and will complete the same 8 classes and then be done. Sometimes you get a certificate. The premed courses I mentioned over at University of New England are 300 level and open enrollment (no certificate of completion) however, they are only open to post-bacs- you couldn't take them and then transfer them back into TESC toward an undergrad degree (unless you already held one and were working on a second degree) Post bac should not be confused with a graduate certificate, which is a formal program at the graduate 500+ level. Hope that helps!
