just went and took the college composition with 2 essay (CLEP) this morning, left about 5 MC questions, ran out of time. Essay was ok I think. but I was trying to rush through the MC part near the end because I was running out of time. not feeling very good about it, but I havn't seen anybody fail this test yet? what do you guys think? nervously waiting for my score right now.
If people didn't fail it, colleges would consider the exam worthless and not grant credit for it. People who failed generally don't talk about failing. Lots of people fail this exam. Pass rates for people who post here may be higher, but still aren't 100%.
Speculating won't change the outcome. Consider studying for another exam to get your mind focused on something else.

Seriously, I remember it like yesterday. What's done is done, you can only wait and see. Yes, sometimes people fail, but you won't get 2 scores- it will be a score that includes both your essay and mc questions, so you won't ever really know "what" would have been the cause if it comes to that. I'll cross my fingers for you anyway

I second both of the above posters.
If the collegeboard gets your exam by tonight, you'll probably get your scores back around the 13th (or the 15th) of April. If the collegeboard gets it sometime tomorrow or later, you can expect to have them by the 27th (or the 29th) of April. Oh, and remember, how this test is weighted. 50% to the MC, 50% to the essays. So it's not going to be a big deal if you ran out of time on a couple questions, especially if you did alright on the essays. As clep 3705 said, get busy studying for your next thing. That's the best way to burn time while waiting for a score. Good Luck!

There used to be a list of the pass/fail rates for each CLEP (or maybe it was only for DANTES) , it may have even been on the college board official site, I'll dig around and see if I can find it.

I can't comment on whether or not people fail this test, but I did want to say that I know how you feel waiting for your scores! I'm awaiting my results too. I took it on the 20th so I'm hoping to have it back sometime during the 2nd to 3rd week of April like Publius mentioned. That seems like so far away!! :willynilly: Just hang in there and like everyone else suggested, try starting to study for another test to keep your mind occupied. That's what I'm doing!

Your test results should have been transmitted to CLEP when the test center closed for business yesterday (as long as it wasn't later than 11:59 pm ET). So you are looking at a score mailed from NJ on 4/11. You can make a guess as to how long it will take the postal system to get the first class envelope from NJ to your location, but I generally allow 5 days to cross to the west coast as an approximation.
I hope you receive some great news in a couple of weeks!

Wow, those rates are LOW. And the volumes are too. I can't believe how few people take some of these tests. But in a way it's not shocking because no college I've been to really advertises them save for a small section in student handbooks and maybe a poster in the testing center.
