Ok I am a 0 credit indivdual in the wonderful US Army.
I have so far taken 22 FEMA classes, about 19-20 actual credit hours. I am planning on doing the Credit Bank at TESC since its the most cost effective when I achieve 30 Credit hours.(reason why at 30 is due to a new job)
I have recently stumbled onto ALEKS and Straighterline. I am kinda confused on the whole programs they offer. Can these be taken as actual credits sent into EC or TESC?
So I think I want to achieve a CJ Degree, I am torn on schools mainly on the fact that I would be first one in my family to achieve a degree so EC would be nice due to the fact I have heard they do real nice graduations. ( thats minor though if we can find a better solution)
I got my H.S. Diploma through Penn Foster and I think they do give discounts for former students there so thats another option.
I don't what I am really asking here. I suppose it's whats the best school that takes these credits from FEMA/ALEKS/Straighterline that would give me the best jump to a CJ Degree.
I will most likely CLEP my GER classes.
Help I am mumbling on here.

Welcome
To cut a long story short.
Try doing a SEARCH on everything you've asked about. There is absolutely loads of info that can answer all your questions here on these forums.
It just takes a little bit of time
I was in your boat too but I just put a few hours aside each day to read through all the forums on here.
(I'm sure someone will give you a start)

DJ,
Thanks for your service! Another source of FREE ACE credits for those with access to the E-Army learning portal are the ACE APPROVED Skillsoft courses. My son has knocked off 9 or 10 IT credits through this method. Although the business courses won't cover the core credit requirments for Business majors, they will give you a good overview of business and can be used as electives within a business degree. This has made my sons completion (near) of a TESC BSBA CIS possible. There is a lot of information available to US Army and all services here

Good luck!

To give you a quick answer, Thomas Edison State College (TESC) gives direct credit for FEMA. They also give credit for ACE credits. TESC has no minimum requirement for the amount of credits earned through them, therefore your quickest route to a CJ degree might be TESC. Having said that with the exception of FEMA credits, all of the above apply to Excelsior College.
I earned a degree through EC, and am helping two sons earn degrees through TESC. All things being equal, EC customer support and service is superior.
