Degree plan help...
#1
Hi everyone. I'm seeking guidance on the best and quickest way to get my Bachelor's in anything.

I already have my career in place, I just need the simplest, quickest route to a degree to advance my career (flight crew). Based on the CLEPS/DSST's I've taken below, I'm kind of guessing a Psych degree or Liberal Arts degree. I would use Excelsior since they already have previous transcripts and tests I've taken on file. Thanks in advance!

I'm using Excelsior to do exactly what you're imagining. Going for a BS Liberal Arts, because the only notable requirements are the 2 areas of depth, both of which Excelsior covers by making a large number of Sociology and Psychology exams available.

You will have to take their Information Literacy and Capstone courses at a minimum.

I'm aiming for having nearly all my credits by the end of this year, and I began in February with just 9 transfer credits.

Hello Everyone, thanks so much for posting this thread! I am doing the same thing! I am prepping for my for CLEP and have a few college credits I am transferring. I had planned on transferring FEMA until I heard the bad news.. But after seeing your posts, I feel motivated to test and go for my Psych degree or Liberal Arts degree.

I hope to follow your progress and your degree paths.. Many thanks! Please know and everyone else on the boards are a true blessing to me and inspiration.

I'm bumping this thread to hopefully get some advice in which tests to take to complete an AA or AS in liberal studies at Excelsior. I know I started the thread alluding to a BS, but I'd rather take my degree hunting in smaller bites. Smile

Can someone help me out in choosing some semi-easy CLEPS/Dante's to finish up a AA or AS (based on my below tests already taken)? Also would an AA or AS be quicker? Thanks for your help. I'm trying to do a few more tests without having to pay the fee to Excelsior so they can tell me which ones. Thanks!

You could complete an AS from Excelsior with Straighterline English Comp I and II, CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, ALEKS Beginning and College Algebra (or CLEP College Math), DSST Environment and Humanity, DSST Intro to World Religions, CLEP Social Science, and the Excelsior Information Literacy and Associate Capstone classes.

There are lots and lots of other ways to finish the degree, of course. Good luck!

I received a message from EC saying I need to finish the following:

Thank you for your continue dinterest in the School of Liberal Arts at Excelsior College. if you were to re-enroll into the Associate of Science in Liberal Arts degree program, it appears you would need the following requirements:

1.00 semester hour in information literacy
6.00 semester hours in the humanities
3.00 semester hours in college math
3.00 semester hours in the natural sciences
3.00 semester hours to fulfill the associate level capstone course

Would your above examples fit in to these requirements? I'm looking especially at taking the Intro World Religions and the Environment/Humanity tests soon. Do those two tests fall under "Humanities?"

Thanks!
