If you switched to a BALS or BA SocSci, you'd be able to take a lot more history courses.
But, it would also make history a "chore" that you have to do, rather than a fun thing. Trying to make sure you took courses that you might not want to take simply because you needed them for UL coursework would certainly suck the joy out of it for me.
You might want to consider finishing your BSBA in CIS, and then learning about history in your free time. Or taking courses for fun. Rather than getting a "fun" degree.
Just my thoughts. I'd rather get my degree in something that will be useful to my job, and do the fun stuff on the side.
I tend to agree with this. Right now things are going well at work but the future is an unknown. It might be a good idea to have a CIS degree that you can use in the event things change at work again. Or, you might want to have the degree in the event you stumble upon another opportunity that requires a CIS degree.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

But thanks for the link though!
I misread your post. I was under the impression that you wanted a second bachelor's, when you actually want to change majors. That is not as out of the norm as your post seemed. I apologize for jumping the gun.
PS- The link would probably be an excellent source to test out of the Civil War DSST!

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

One last thing to note: if you are already enrolled in the BSBA program, and decide to change majors, you may not get to stay on the same catalog. If you're enrolled under the current catalog, then you might want to consider switching before July 1, as then you will stay current. July 1, they may change some requirements (as if they didn't change enough on April 1), and we don't know what those may be.

When I started my journey here on the forum, I was convinced to get a BSBA CIS, because I thought I needed it to advance in my career.
Since then, a couple of things changed:
- Things at work changed and I don't have that urgency anymore to have that degree. Things are really good at work.
- After reading some books and watching a lot of History Channel during a week I was ill with the flue, I remembered again how much I love history.
So now I'm thinking about going to do a BA of History or maybe social sciences, so I can take other courses that might interest me as well.
So my question would be:
Does anyone here have ever done/completed a degree with the courses, not that you needed, because you wanted them or you were interested in them. So a degree for fun?
Thanks!
sure! My degree in social sciences doesn't relate to culinary arts in the least. (on paper)
In reality, after taking courses in sociology, anthropology, social psychology, and others, I developed an interest in the social and cultural aspects of food and eating, not to mention the aspects of food insecurity that are rampant worldwide. Cool huh? Furthermore, after I finished that degree, I considered doing something in health care for a while, so took a bunch of sciences that THEN sparked an interest in the scientific use of food (aka nutrition) so it's all really a giant venn diagram. I think you could absolutely weave all of your interests together- even if that's not your intent!

+1, I again would recommend completing your current degree BSBA CIS, and with the 21-27 credits of general education electives, choose something you'd like to take for fun. For myself, I would use those 21-27 credits in an area that may interest you (in my case, Biology as I want to get the ASNSM in Biology).

+1 on this, life is full of learning and what you think you like today may not be interesting tomorrow. My plan is to take as many credits that apply to both the BSBA and ASNSM Biology, so I can graduate from both at the same time... the general education requirements are the same, it's the AOS that's different.
I like Biology (was thinking of Comp Sci or Mathematics, but courses are harder to find, plus all that ALEKS fried my brain cells...)

Thank you all for your opinions and replies!
I still have a couple of General education requirements (English, and Intro Communication,...) to pass, so I still have time to decide what I want to do.
Just to carifly, I haven't enrolled at TESU yet.
