Degree Plan
#1
Hey folks

Hoping to get some help.
I have applied at EC.
I want to do Bachelor in Liberal studies...(at this point in time)

So I want to get started with my dsst/cleps.

Could any of you good people perhaps post some samples of your degree plans please?

I am needing a little bit of help as to which exams I should be studying first.
This would be a great help even just to point me in the right direction on my first tests.

Thanking you in advance

Well, I am enrolled at TESC, but perhaps this can still be of help to you. Smile

A great place to start is with Gen Eds. English Composition, College Math/Algebra, Natural Sciences or Biology, US History exams, Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, things like that.

If EC has a breakdown of credits needed for each degree, look at the requirement and then take a CLEP/DANTES exam that would fulfill that requirement.

I'm sure people who have enrolled at EC can be of much more help. But perhaps this can point you in the right direction. Smile

If you PM me, I can send you my degree template.

Welcome to the forum!
I just went from 86 credits to graduation in 7 intensive weeks, so here is my advice. I actually finished my degree at about the same time that my official entrance evaluation was completed.

You will need a ton of social science, or science courses. A number of them will need to be at the upper level, and you will need an area of focus.

I found the whole series of Psych courses to be the best fit meeting both the focus and the soc science criteria. The nice thing about them is that there is overlap between all of them. This allowed me to do 36 credits in the past 7 weeks, with most credits at the upper level. I mixed up DSST with EC exams. The EC exams do run more expensive at $100/credit including the practice exams, but many are upper level.

I would look into:
Intro to Psych
Statistics (counts toward soc science, math, psyc)
Psych of the Aging (upper level)
Gerentology (sociology, but much in common with psyc of aging) (upper level)
Research Methods in Psych (you should take this earlier, it is part of all psyc) (upper level
Abnormal Psych (Hardest) (upper level)
Social Psyc (upper level)

Other possibilies are:
Drug and alcohol
Educational Psyc

For me, these courses are easy because there is just a whole bunch of memorization, and the IC cards are very helpful.
Statistics is the safest course of all, since it can be dropped into a number of bins.

Hope this helps!
