I'm bumping my own old thread, partly so that I can remain accountable, partly so that at least I can keep all my stuff in one place.
Back in 2016, after reading all over this board, I chose the TESU BSBA. I started with the free courses, and tried the ALEKS classes. After I signed up for ALEKS, I just... stopped. No excuses, I just didn't feel like it.
I'm back around to it now by force. Economic necessity, looking to move up. But I know a lot of things have changed.
I took a look at BJCheungs' TESU BSBA spreadsheet, and see that a lot of classes are now on Straighterline and Study.com. My old spreadsheet had a lot of different sources: DSST, TEEX, Saylor, etc.
My question to you guys:
1. Is the study.com/straighterline route the quickest for time? Taking CLEPs are pretty much out - travel time is slim for me. Cost is a factor, but speed to completion is more important.
2. Will the study.com or straighterline method help me to really roll through these courses? I have plenty of time during the day to read/study, but I'm really trying to finish asap. I'm at 25/120 right now.
3. Do you guys think that an end of year graduation is even possible?
Most of the options are still available - except ALEKS and a couple of the free courses (NFA, Kaplan, some expired courses here and there).
You can look at my spreadsheet which has ALL of the options I think. BJCheung based his on mine, but took away a bunch of options.
I think it really depends on how you learn best as to the fastest way to get through courses. If you're a good tester, Saylor, TECEP's, Davar, Coopersmith - are all good options if you can't get to a testing center. If you prefer a course, SL, Study.com, Shmoop, Ed4Credit are good choices. Just depends on you, and how you want to do it. Some stick mostly with one provider, because once you get used to doing it a certain way, that can become the easiest way to plow through stuff. But others take courses here, there, and everywhere (I'm one of those). I've taken CLEP, DSST, ALEKS, TECEP, Study.com, Ed4Credit, Sophia, Kaplan, Penn Foster, The Institutes, etc. Sometimes it was because something was especially cheap or free, others it's because it was easier, others for different reasons. All platforms had their pros and cons, and all did the job for me.

1 & 2. Study.com and Straighterline are two of the best options. Completion speed depends on how much of the material you already know and how much time you can put into it. If you don't know the material, you can generally power through SL courses more quickly than Study.com, but the downside is you'll also tend to learn less. Courses at Study.com generally take 1-3 weeks to power through if new to you. If you already know the material, both options are equally fast. There are also alternative options like Shmoop, Saylor, Davar, Ed4Credit, etc., but for the most part they don't offer much that isn't available via SL or Study.com, and each has their own plusses and minuses.
3. Not impossible. You'd have to apply for graduation in like September and have all your courses (including Capstone) completed no later than November. And the Capstone isn't self-paced, so you'd probably need to aim to do that early to get it out of the way. You'd need to average completing 5 courses per month to make it happen. Tough but possible. I'm aiming for 4 courses per month and finding it pretty rough. Then again I've been focusing primarily on Study.com due to the scholarship (which you should also sign up for, its 6 free courses / 18 credits and has nearly 100% acceptance.)

Thanks for the updated spreadsheet - I had an older version of yours that I started working off of.
Looking at some of the classes on the list, I definitely think I could test out of some of them. So I'm going to look at Davar and Saylor too.
With the TECEPs, don't you have to be enrolled to take these? I was trying to avoid the enrollment until I was closer to finishing.

You get a lower price for the TECEP's if you're enrolled, but it's not a requirement. I would recommend that you enroll sooner rather than later - you lock in the current catalog, which is important. Plus, there's no downside to enrolling - TESU doesn't charge any per-term fees, so there is no cost to enroll, other than the application fee.

I've been working at my classes, on study.com and SL and really powering through. About 15 classes left.
I have a question about the timelines for TESU and graduation.
If I'm shooting for December, what is the drop-dead date to have all 120 completed?
I plan on registering for the capstone as soon as I have all the required courses completed (which should be by end of next month.)
If I were you, I would register NOW for the July Term (pay the late fee) so that you can finish before the Graduation Application Deadline of October 1st. If you are still doing the capstone after that, I don't think TESU will let you graduate in December. You can finish up your courses while doing the capstone, or right after you're done. It's easy to finish your courses and send them in before the final audit around 3 weeks before graduation, as long as the capstone is completed and most of your courses are in. But if you're in the middle of the capstone (or even close to finishing), they can clearly see that it won't be done in time, since they know when the grades come out. It's almost an automatic no.
Also, if you register before June 30th, you save a boatload of cash with the Study.com affiliate membership discount, which ends June 30th. You save $400 on the course tuition ($1098 instead of $1497), and you'll save $700 on the Residency Waiver ($1800 instead of $2500) if you pay it before June 30th.
You'll also save $300 on the cornerstone, although I think that waiver will stay in place after June 30th.
If you wait, you'll pay more, and your graduation won't be until March.

Application for Graduation has to be submitted BEFORE October 1. You can send in your transcripts before December.
I would highly recommend getting everything finished before November 15, so you can send in your final transcript.

I figured that I should register soon.
Can I register for the capstone without all the prereqs completed for it? If I can, great! I can definitely be done before end of November.
Also: I've been revising (and revising) my degree plan from 2016 as I go, and I have the degree plan you sent me earlier this year. Your newest plan doesn't say that for the AOS, at least 12 credits have to be upper level. TESU's website doesn't say it either. Did this requirement change?
Regovista, It's never too late! Do the following steps to get the registration done for the Capstone course.
1) Log into OSS - https://www.tesu.edu/current-students/on...t-services
2) Click Student Menu, Click My Profile - Student Status has to show the following
CPPEN Corporate Choice Enrolled. If it shows something else, you need to fix it.
Go to Step 3 if it is already showing as CPPEN Corporate Choice Enrolled.
A) If it shows anything else, first thing you need to do is get a transcript sent to TESU.
This is a Study.com transcript request: https://support.study.com/support/soluti...rsity-tesu-
B) Once the submission is made, it will only take 24 hours to get sent to TESU. Call TESU.
Get them to apply the Study.com Affiliation to your account
3) While in OSS, log into Search, Register, Drop courses.
Term: August 2018
Subject: Business
Academic Level: Undergraduate
The online course or guided study, take your pick, I recommend the Online Course instead.
Pay for the course with your Credit Card, it will have a 0.0285% charge.
Unless you have a banking account you can use to auto transfer.
The cost should be $1098+ extra surcharge for the entire course.
4) Email studentaccts@tesu.edu and Call 609-984-4099 tomorrow with the following info:
I am going to be paying for the Residency Waiver Fee, but need to know how I go ahead and do that. Fellow students have informed me to call the 609-984-4099 number for assistance, but I keep getting hold music and waited for a few times already.
I am hoping that I can get this Residency Waiver paid for before June 28, 2018. I am on Study.com affiliate pricing and don't want to miss out on the current affiliate pricing discount.
