Received confirmation this week that my daughter will be receiving a full scholorship for her first semester at Harvard Extension. Its through Phi Theta Kappa, the national community college honor society.
She also got a call back yesterday from an interesting paid internship opportunity at a Sea World. We will see how that works out.
Just had to brag a little.
Best,
Mike

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Unofficial evaluation indicates 44:
12 CLEP (thats three Clep's as HES awards 4 credits)
32 B&M (all that she earned including fulfilling the Language requirement)
So she only "loses" about 15 credits, the CLEP over the 12 they allow and a single DSST plus the 7 FEMA no one has given her credit for.

I wouldn't worry about it. So, what is her expected schedule for fall? I think registration is coming up isn't it?

Oh she's really happy with it. Gives her some room for frivolity.
Tentative fall plan is:
*Expo 25
*Intense Introduction to Computer Science with Malan
*Case Studies in Global Health: Biosocial Perspectives
(she just sent the confirmation in for these three, registration is August 1, I believe)
It's funny, when you Google these courses/instructors your often taken to Amazon where you can buy one of their published books/textbooks. Or you at least find links to the journal articles and academic work they have authored. I don't really care what the detractors say. Harvard Extension offers a unique and valuable alternative to traditional learning. So happy we discovered it!

You know I'm OVER THE TOP JEALOUS that she's taking Case Studies in Global Health!!!! I've had that on my wish list for over a year. I'm already taking 2 grad classes elsewhere this fall or I'd be in class with her

I'll be waiting to hear how it goes. Maybe she'd sell me her books when she's done? I think they require about eleventy-seven for that course ;p
