I'm planning to take my first Dantes and was blown away by a listed exam fee. Is $80+$70 normal? I don't expect dantes to be priced the same as Clep but my goodness. Cleps are $18 bucks and the fee for Dsst is $70?
could this be a typo?

Afraid not. If you're getting CLEP's for $18 then you're getting quite the deal anyway.

I don't know where you can get CLEP for $18 they are usually about $75 where I go.
I just pais $80 for a Dantes on Friday plus $35 for the testing fee at the CC. I consider $115 for 3 credits a great deal.
My local CC and any others I know charge at least $100 per credit plus other fees, so I just saved over $200 by taking that Dantes

The cost for Cleps are $72
About the College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
and DSST's are $80
DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com, the fee that can vary
is the test center fee. The local CC where I took my DSST charges a fee of $15 to administer a Clep or DSSt exam.
Where/how are you taking Cleps for only $18 ?

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) . It appears they are charging $72 clep fee and $30 administration fee. I agree that the $70 admin fee at UAB for DSST seems way to high. I would look around for another testing site.

The UOP in Meridian was charging me $10 for administration fees, and a couple of times they just waived it as a thank you for being such a regular customer. :o
A $70 admin fee is ridonkulous. Find another testing center, if you can.

When you say the actual CLEP fee is $18, you're talking about the price you pay directly to University of Alabama, correct?
I would definitely find another testing center. Seventy dollars is WAY too high to pay as an administration fee for a DSST test. I only have to pay $12 to my testing center.
