Hi all. I am scheduled for my first test next week and it occurred to me that I have no idea what to do regarding the banking of the tests. I haven't chosen a school but I am leaning to Empire State. Since I haven't chosen a school (prefer to build credits prior to enrollment, if possible) will those tests that I passed be accessible for transfer at a later date, such as when I finally opt into a program? If so, how do I transfer them to the school? Love the site and thanks so much for making it available.

Hi and welcome! You don't have to do anything, just take as many tests as you'd like and when you choose a school, you'll need to call up both CLEP and Dantes and have them send the transcripts. If I remember correctly, it's either 20 or 25 bucks to do this, however it doesn't matter how many tests you have.
For example, if you have 10 or if you have 1 CLEP test, you'll still pay the same amount to have them send those results to your school. Then, you also have to pay Dantes 20 bucks or so to send their results as well.
HTH!
Edit to add: You should probably not get too far down the testing path until you've chosen a college and figured out a degree plan. You'll want to make the best use of your resources and you don't want to study for a test that you can't use.

Welcome to this great forum. If it wasn't for these folks, I would still be sitting on 21 very old credits instead of being within 15 credits of attaining a BA from TESC.
With regards to cost of transcripts - Burbuja was close - $20 for Clep, $30 for Dantes.
Her advice is on the mark. Don't wait to get a credit evaluation and course plan - No sense taking unnecessary tests.
Again, welcome!
