DSST Transcript question

Hi all,

My sister, who also uses this forum, had her DSST transcript sent to TESC when we both enrolled a month or so ago. We just realized that the last DSST exam she took hadn't shown up on the transcript yet and therefore TESC hasn't added it to her degree audit. Obviously, we need to request another transcript with that course on it, but I'm not sure what to do---do we ask the DSST folks to send another complete transcript (which might confuse TESC?) or a transcript with just that course? Or what?

I've gotten pretty good at taking tests but navigating the college paperwork system is a whole 'nother thing altogether, LOL!

Well, the DSST exam center will send the exam results to TESC. If your sister is like me and you are still taking exams while the try to finish their audit, it will delay it for a while. I really don't understand it either. You could request another transcript and TESC will accept that one over the older one. Hope that helps!

I hate to be the one to ask the obvious question....but the both of you did elect to have your scores sent to TESC...after you take each test...right? (This is on top of the original transcript) You have to do this for every test you take, whether it be a CLEP/Dantes or ECE, and it will take time for it to show up. The test result will be sent to both you and the school you selected (in your case, TESC) I would imagine most people know this but I thought I would post the obvious in case someone didn't. Lee

Yes, I did know....it's just that we did a year of CLEPs and DSSTs before we actually enrolled (saves $$). Now that we're enrolled we're having our scores sent to TESC but prior to that we were simply letting CLEP and DSST bank them.

I took a couple of DSST exams quite a few weeks ago and they just showed up at Excelsior 2 days ago. I took an electronic exam as well.

When you list a college to send the DSST score to is that the same thing as sending a transcript? How long does it take to show up on your college transcript? (Assuming I take the electronic exam)

Sort of. It sends them your score for that perticular exam not every DSST you have ever taken. Sending a transcript lists multiple exam results. How long it takes to show up on your offical college transcript probably has more to do with the school than the exam program but most of the time if you have the results sent when you take the electronic exams it takes a couple of weeks for the school to get them.

Most of the time I have taken these tests, it has taken about 3 weeks. I took a couple of Dantes and a Clep on the same day at the same place, and the Clep showed up almost 2 weeks sooner than the DSST exams. (IE, took MIS DSST on December 20 and just showed up a couple of days ago) I have taken the electronic versions.

Just for clarification purposes - will be DSST scores be sent to me as well as the school I indicated. It's been 2 weeks now and I haven't received my DSST scores. Is there a way to contact DSST?
